Importing and exporting a project

When you want to copy a project, use the import and export features. You can import and export an entire project or parts of it from the Velocity Console and integrate them into other projects as needed. For example, if you want to use the same keyboards with two different hosts, export the keyboards from one project, then create or open the other project and import the keyboards.

The Velocity Console can import the following types of projects:

•A project that was exported from the Velocity Console as a .zip file. When you import the project, it includes the host profile settings along with any screen captures, scripts, keyboards, formatting rules, screens, themes, and resources associated with the host profile. If you are creating backup files, we recommend exporting the projects as .zip files.

•A host profile that was deployed from the Velocity Console as a .wldep file. This includes the host profile settings, scripts, keyboards, and resources. Screens from a screen capture file (.wltsc) and the rules associated with them are not imported. Scripts are imported as they are in the deployment file, but may not retain the script names, variable names, or other non-essential information.

•A Wavelink Terminal Emulation (.wltna) file. A limited number of the settings that are supported by Velocity are imported. If there are multiple host profiles in the file, select which one is imported. The .wltna file must be created by Terminal Emulation version 7.3.

To import a project, you should be on the Project list of the Velocity Console. Either drag and drop the file into the project list, or click Import and select the project type and file.

Enhanced logging, scan to config, or global settings projects cannot be exported.
