Offline forms

Velocity Forms has a feature that lets the Velocity Client download forms associated with form launchers, and the forms can be filled even when the device doesn't have Internet access. Submissions are saved on the device until it has a connection and can submit them to Ivanti Neurons.

The setting for Offline Forms is a global setting, and all the Velocity Clients in your environment will download the forms associated with form launchers that they have.

This feature is designed for workers who are expected to be offline for extended periods of time.

There is a risk of data loss when the data is not submitted immediately. Using this feature is only recommended in situations where that data loss is an acceptable risk.

•Normal behavior: By default, if the Client tries to submit form data and it cannot connect to the Ivanti Neurons proxy server, it returns the user to the form page and allows them to try again when they have a better connection. There is no risk of unintentional data loss.

•Offline Forms behavior: If Offline Forms is enabled and the Client is launched, it downloads any forms associated with the Form Launchers that the Client currently has. When the user opens a form, the Client loads it from local memory. When the user tries to submit a form and the Client cannot connect to the proxy server, it stores the submission data locally and the form closes. The same form or different forms can be filled multiple times, and the submissions are stored locally. A badge is shown in the Client menu that displays how many submissions are waiting to be submitted. However, if the device is lost, stolen, or broken, the data on the device may be lost.

When the Client detects the device has a connection, it sends the stored submissions to Ivanti Neurons. Alternately, the user can tap on the Client menu and then Submit forms.

If the user submits a form while the device is online, the Client behaves as normal. A form submission is sent immediately to Ivanti Neurons.

To use the Offline Forms feature, you must enable it on your Ivanti Neurons tenant. Each Velocity Client should be launched when it can connect to the proxy server and download the forms before the device goes offline. The Client shows a message when forms have successfully downloaded, and the session details for the form show the last time it was downloaded.
