Once the Keyboard Editor is installed, the application appears in your start menu. When launched, you can immediately begin creating custom keyboards from existing templates.
Below is a list of common actions you can perform with the Keyboard Editor application:
• To rename your open project, double-click the project name above the Editor panel. When saved with a new name, your project folder will be renamed as well. To rename a keyboard, open the desired keyboard and click Edit > Rename Keyboard or double-click on the keyboard name in the Editor panel.
• To change the interface language of the Keyboard Editor, click View > Language and select the desired language. The application will be forced to restart and load in the selected language.
• To create a custom keyboard from a template, click New in the Keyboards panel and enter a new name for the keyboard. To change the layout of keys on a keyboard, see Editing Templates. To delete the project you're currently working on, click Edit > Delete Project. This will not delete the files of any keyboards associated with the project.
• To import a local custom keyboard, click Import in the Keyboards panel and select a custom keyboard from another project. To import keyboards contained in another project or on another computer, you must first export that project as a bundle. To export keyboards, see Exporting Keyboards from the Keyboard Editor. After exporting the keyboards to a ZIP file, in the Keyboard Editor navigate to Project > Import Bundle. All keyboards are added to the project and display in the Keyboards panel.
• To remove a keyboard from your open project, open the desired keyboard. Then click Edit > Remove Keyboard in the menu or select the Delete button in the Keyboards panel. The keyboard is deleted from your project. This does not delete the keyboard in its entirety, only the link to the project. To delete a keyboard, you must navigate to [User documents folder]\AppData\Local\Wavelink\ProductivityPack\KeyboardEditor\Library\ and delete the keyboard.
• To change the appearance of text and colors on keys, select the desired key and pick a style from the Key Details panel. You can also change the default style for keys by selecting the Settings button in the Editor panel and changing the Default Style option. You can also create and edit styles, as described in Using the Style Editor.
