Update CSID Automatic Updates Tab

This topic applies to on-premises installations.

Use this tab to automatically check for and install new versions the Cherwell Software Identification Database (CSID) when available, and then specify how often these checks should occur.

To set up automatic CSID updates, first mark the Install updates automatically option. Then decide whether to check for updates daily, weekly, or on a schedule you set up in the Windows Task Scheduler. For daily updates, specify the hour the update should take place. For weekly updates, specify a day of the week and the time of day. To use the Task Scheduler, select Custom and then set up a task in the Scheduler.

Once you've set up automatic updates, the CSID will be updated on the specified schedule when new versions of the CSID are available. If a newer version of the CSID is not available at the time of a scheduled update, no action will occur.
