Discover Oracle Database Instances

You can configure CAM Discovery to discover Oracle Database instances on your network.

When Oracle Database instances are discovered, Oracle Database licensing data can be collected to help you assess your licensing position.

CAM Discovery supports Oracle Database instance information in Unix/Linux environments for the following Oracle releases:

  • Oracle Database version 12c, release 2, Enterprise and Standard editions
  • Oracle Database version 11g, release 2, Enterprise and Standard editions

Once configured, the discovery process automatically runs at 4:00 AM Pacific Time each Sunday.

To turn off the scheduled task:

  • From the Schedule tab, select Options.
Change how frequently discovery runs through the Windows Task Scheduler.
