How to Add an Application to the CAM Database

If you want to report on applications in license units, you must add those applications to the CAM Database.

To add an application to your CAM Database:

  1. In CAM Administrator, select File > New Application.
  2. Select either in New License Unit or in Selected License Unit.
  3. In the New Application dialog box, enter the information for the application. You can add or edit the same types of information as for applications added from the CSID.
  4. Click OK.

The application is now included in the list of configured license units in CAM Administrator.

This procedure affects only the configuration of applications in your environment. It does not impact the Cherwell Software Identification Database (CSID) used to automatically configure applications.
