PPM Demand Scoring

Demand scoring is valuable as a decision-making tool when compared against other Demands.

Demand scoring is comprised of five questions and answers, each weighted at 20% of the Overall Demand Score. You have the option to change the weighted scoring of each answer. The points rankings are next to each answer below. The highest possible score is 100% and the lowest possible score is 20%.

  1. How does this project affect other existing or planned projects?
    1. Strongly enhances one or more projects — 20 points
    2. Provides some positive impact on one or more projects — 18 points
    3. Has no effect on other projects — 15 points
    4. Provides some adverse effects on one or more projects — 10 points
    5. Strongly adversely affects one or more projects — 5 point
  2. What is the initial estimated cost of the project?
    1. $10,000—$75,000 — 20 points
    2. $75,000—$250,000 — 10 points
    3. > $250,000 — 5 points
    4. Unknown — 0 points
  3. What is the projects's estimated effort?
    1. 1 month or less — 20 points
    2. 4 months or less — 18 points
    3. 6 months or less — 15 points
    4. 6—12 months — 10 points
    5. 1 year or more — 5 points
  4. How many resources are required?
    1. < 5 — 20 points
    2. 5-20 — 10 points
    3. > 20 — 5 points
  5. Does this project require outsourced vendors?
    1. Yes — 10 points
    2. No — 20 points
    3. Unknown — 5 points

The Overall Demand Score displays on the Overview form after scoring has been submitted and completed.
