Entity Relationship Diagrams
Generate an Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) to create a visual representation of first level Relationships associated with a Major or Supporting Business Object.
View an Entity Relationship Diagram
To view a Entity Relationship Diagram:
- In CSM Administrator, create a new Blueprint or open an existing Blueprint.
- Select a Business Object type from the Blueprint Editor task pane (example: Incident).
- Select Edit Relationships from the Structure section. The Relationship Editor opens.
- Select the Diagram View tab. One-to-one Relationships are displayed with a single line, and one-to-many Relationships are connected with three lines. Hover over a connecting line for information on whether the Relationship is linked or owned by.
- (Optional): To export the diagram, right-click anywhere in the Diagram pane and select Export. Export the diagram to Visio, as a PDF, or as a .svg file.
Edit Business Object Colors
To edit the color that represents each Business Object in an ERD:
- In CSM Administrator, create a new Blueprint or open an existing Blueprint.
- Select a Business Object type from the Blueprint Editor task pane (example: Incident).
- Select Edit Business Object.
- Right-click in the Business Object Properties Grid and select Properties (example: Incident Properties). The Business Object Properties Manager opens.
- Select the Advanced tab.
- Click the Color Selector icon in the Associated Color field.
- Choose a color to represent the selected Business Object in an Entity Relationship Diagram.
- Select OK to close the Business Object Properties Manager.
- Select Save.
