End User App Portal (Limited Availability)

The app distribution end user App Portal can optionally be installed on Windows endpoints you select. The App Portal works with Windows 10 version 1809 and newer, Windows 11, and Windows Server 2019 and newer.

You can configure which apps show in the portal. The App Portal can also display a list of apps that users can install themselves. You can control whether apps always appear in the portal or whether they only stay in the portal until the user installs the app.

You can create app categories that users can select and use to filter the app list. You can also include screenshots and additional data about the app that users will see.

The Windows Start menu item for the App Portal appears at the root and is not in a subfolder. It is labeled "App Portal" and does not include "Ivanti" in the name to reduce confusion and to help it appear as if it were your company's app portal.

When a user opens the App Portal it defaults to an All Apps view. You can include custom icons for apps that show there. Users can also favorite items and toggle the view between icon and list.

If a user selects multiple apps to install from the portal, the selected apps will be put in a queue so they can be installed one at a time. When a user selects Install, the app distribution engine will be activated to install the app. Portal app install logs are stored in the standard app distribution log folder: C:\ProgramData\Ivanti\Ivanti Cloud Agent\Agent\Logs\SWDApps.

When you assign an app to the App Portal, end users should see it within a few minutes. It can take up to 12 hours for changes to an existing app's metadata, such as screenshots or text, to propagate.

The app portal maintains a history of app installations from the portal. The history includes direct links to the log folder for troubleshooting purposes.
