Dashboard Designer
The Dashboard Designer page allows you to create and modify dashboards. Dashboards can be viewed under the Dashboards tab after they are created. Select the desired dashboard from the list to modify. You can create different types of charts and visualize the data on your dashboard.
Users with the Create & Modify Dashboards permission can create, modify, or delete the dashboards and charts. Users with the View Dashboards permission can only view the dashboards. For details, see Roles.
The Dashboards functionality has been moved under Admin and will be eliminated in late 2024. To migrate old dashboards to Dashboard Designer, please contact Ivanti Support.
To create a dashboard
- Go to Main menu > Dashboard Designer.
- On the Dashboards tab, click + Dashboard to create a new dashboard. Alternatively, click the + icon on the top right and select Dashboard from the drop-down menu.
- Replace [Untitled dashboard] with the desired name of your dashboard.
- Configure the dashboard using your existing charts from the Charts tab in the panel, or create a new chart.
- Once you have completed your edits, click Save.
- Use the options menu icon to perform the following actions:
- Refresh dashboard
- Enter fullscreen
- Save as - Overwrite the dashboard or save a copy of the dashboard. Optionally, select also copy (duplicate) charts to save and create a copy of the charts from the selected dashboard. Click Save.
- Download - Generate a PDF or an image of the dashboard for downloading.
- Set auto-refresh interval - Select the desired option from the list and click Save For This Session.
- Click the Draft button next to the Dashboard Name to publish the dashboard. Once the dashboard is published it is available for members with the appropriate permissions to view and modify.
- Once the dashboard is published, other members can only view it.
- You cannot edit or delete the dashboards created by other members.
- Click the favorite icon to mark the dashboard as a favorite.
To create a chart
- Go to Main menu > Dashboard Designer.
- On the Charts tab, click +Charts to create a new chart. Alternatively, you can create a chart using any one of the following methods:
- From the Dashboards tab, click +Dashboard > +Create A New Chart.
- Click + icon on the top right of the Dashboard Designer page and select Chart from the drop-down menu.
- At Choose a dataset select a dataset from the list.
- From the Choose a chart type section, select a chart type.
- Click Create New Chart.
In the window that opens, enter the desired name of your chart. - In the Chart Source section, you can view the list of available Metrics and Columns.
The listed options are different for each chart type. - On the Data sub-tab configure your Query. Mandatory fields are marked with the icon.Example to create a Pie chart using a dataset from the Chart Source
- On the Data tab, click Breakdown By. The My Column dialog appears, select the desired column. Click Save.
- Click Values, the My Metric dialog appears. Select the desired column. Alternatively, drag and drop the Last Logon Timestamp column from the Chart Source. Click Save.
- Optionally, define Filters for Columns and Time Range in the dialog that appears.
- Optionally, click Filters to define the filters for Columns and Time Range in the dialog that appears.
- Optionally, set a Row Limit. The row limit ranges between 10 to 50000.
- Select Sort by Metric to sort selected metrics in descending order.
- On the Customize tab, you can set the chart options. You can customize the percentage threshold, orientation, type, etc.
Customization options differ for each chart type. Click the icon for details on Metrics and Columns.
- Click Create Chart.
- Click Save. The Save chart dialog appears.
Optionally, you can change the Chart Name to save a copy of the chart. - From the Add to Dashboard drop-down, select the desired dashboard.

Click Save. Alternatively, click Save & Go To Dashboard to navigate to the dashboard.
Key notes about charts:- You can view only the charts created by other members. However, you cannot edit or delete the charts created by other members.
- You can save a copy of a chart that has been created by another member.
- You cannot associate a chart with a dashboard that has been created by another member.
To edit a dashboard
- Go to Main menu > Dashboard Designer.
- On the Dashboards tab, select the dashboard to modify.
- Click Edit The Dashboard.
- From the Charts tab, drag and drop the chart(s) to the dashboard. Alternatively, click + Create New Chart to create a new chart.
Select the Show only my charts check box to display only those charts created by you. - From the Layout Elements tab, drag and drop elements such as Tabs, Row, Column, Header, Text, and Divider to the dashboard to customize the layout.
- Double-click on a Tab title to rename the tab.
- To add more tabs, click the + icon.
- To delete any element, hover over it and click the icon that appears.
- Hover over the corners of the chart to resize its height and width.
- Click Save.
- After you have edited the dashboard, click the Draft button next to the Dashboard Name to publish. Once the dashboard is published it is available for members with the appropriate permissions to view and modify.
