External Database Dashboard

Dashboards are not limited to linking and displaying data from only the GoldMine database. Data that you have in other SQL databases can be linked to and used to display on a Dashboard. You can create a new Dashboard specifically for the data, or add parts to an existing Dashboard for the desired data.

NOTE: The SQL login must have “read” permissions on the database to display the results in the Dashboard.

For this example, we will create a Dashboard that displays the individual Product inventory levels for all products stored in an MSSQL database outside of GoldMine. To do this, we will create a new Dashboard with a Chart and Drop-down List, and then link it to an external SQL database.

Our sample database (Accounting) and table (Inventory) contains a list of products sorted by product type and product.
