Creating a Software Set

A Software Set groups different packages together into a single unit. It cannot itself contain any other Software Sets, only packages.

The procedure for simplifying the assignment of packages using a Software Set is as follows:

  1. Select the desired software folder in the Software Library.
  2. Choose the Create an Application Package > Software Set task and then follow the wizard.

    The Packaging Workbench now automatically opens.

  3. Add packages to the Software Set in the Components view in order to, for example, represent "software that belongs together" for certain workstations (software profiles).

    Regarding the other settings in the Packaging Workbench, for example installation parameters or execution prerequisites, the same conditions apply to Software Sets as to packages.
