Roles And Rights (Virtualization)

The following rights are available for virtualization:

  • Operate VM Host

This right is required to execute the user-defined tasks of virtualization.

  • Manage VM Host

This right is required to create and edit virtualization objects in the DSM virtualization tree. In order to move virtualization objects into another container of the DSM virtualization tree this right is required on the target container.

  • Delete VM Host

This right is required to delete virtualization objects in the DSM virtualization tree. In order to move virtualization objects into another container of the DSM virtualization tree this right is required for the source container.

Inventory User Account

If you want to automatically perform an inventory of your virtual infrastructure with DSM, you have to provide a MS Active Directory user account. Make sure this account has at least Read Rights in the virtualization environments you want to perforn an inventory.

You can specify the user account while creating a virtualization object or later on by setting values for the virtualization object's variables.
