Configuration Files on the Depot

The infrastructure configuration is saved in the two files of the Infrastructure Configuration Database (ICDB) on the depot:

Nicfgsrv.Ncp – contains all the configuration information

Nicfglcl.Ncp – contains only the configuration information that is required (locally) on the managed computers (Local ICDB).

When the administrator starts the DSMC, he or she can read the ICDB. If the administrator wishes to edit the configuration, the ICDB must first be opened . This grants the administrator exclusive write access to the single writeable copy of the ICDB on the central depot.
After the editing operation, the ICDB can be closed .

When you change the configuration via the DSMC through the configuration table or by adding or removing site structure objects, the ICDB is changed. For more information on the ICDB, see Infrastructure Configuration Database.
