Importing of Computers and Users

Import

Importing computers and users from an external system to the organization tree of the DSM environment (e.g. Active Directory) is a non-recurring or recurring process.

We recommend that you continue maintaining the data provided by an external system externally to avoid double maintenance. However, you can complete the information required for software management in the DSMC.

Which data will be imported depends on the data source. Please refer to the following topic for more information on the supported data sources and imported data: Importing Organization Directory

Re-import

A re-import...

• adds new objects in DSM.
• updates the properties of existing objects.

Please note, however, that you cannot delete objects from the DSM Database that no longer exist in the external system.
