Uninstalling the Product

It is not necessary to uninstall the product if you are performing an upgrade. See the Security Controls Upgrade Guide for complete details.

To manually uninstall Security Controls:

From the Windows Control Panel dialog, click Uninstall a Program, select Ivanti Security Controls and then click Uninstall.

If you also want to permanently remove all related artifacts:

Important! Do not delete the following items if you intend to reinstall and use Security Controls at a later date.

Delete the following items using Registry Editor:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ivanti\Security Controls

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\LANDESK\Shavlik Protect (if an agent is installed on the console)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ivanti\Security Controls

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LANDESK\Shavlik Protect (if an agent is installed on the console)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\LANDESK\Shavlik Protect

Delete the following directories:

%ProgramData%\Ivanti\Security Controls

%ProgramData%\LANDESK\Shavlik Protect (if an agent is installed on the console)

Users\<name>\AppData\Local\Ivanti_Inc\ST.Protect*

Delete the SQL database

Delete the root and console certificates

You can do this using the Certificates snap-in within Microsoft Management Console.

The root certificate (ST Root Authority) is located in the Trusted Root Certification Authority > Certificates folder

The console certificate, which is issued by ST Root Authority and will have a randomly generated GUID name, is located in the Personal > Certificates folder
