Accessing Desktop Management and external commands

If you have set up the desktop integration features of Service Desk or Asset Manager to integrate with Ivanti Endpoint Manager (LDMS) or Microsoft SCCM, then you can access the desktop management menu from within Web Desk. Your system may have also been designed to include links to external applications from the Actions list.

For more information about configuring desktop management and external applications from Service Desk or Asset Manager, see Desktop Integration.

To access the desktop management menu from within Web Desk:
  1. Right-click the CI on the Incident window (or on a query results list) and point to either Management Suite or Microsoft SCCM on the shortcut menu.
The Endpoint Manager or SCCM desktop management menu appears.
  2. Click the required menu option:
Ivanti Deploy Patch – displays the Deploy Patch dialog so you can select patches to resolve vulnerabilities on the selected computer
Ivanti Deploy Software – displays the Deploy Software dialog so you can schedule the deployment of software packages using different delivery methods using Endpoint Manager
Ivanti Remote Tools – enables you to remote control the selected computer
Ivanti SFTP Tool – enables you to start the Secure FTP tool
Ivanti SSH Tool – enables you to start the Secure Shell tool
Ivanti Vulnerability Scan – enables you to run an Endpoint Manager vulnerability scan on the selected computer
SCCM Configuration Manager Console – enables you to start the SCCM Configuration Manager Console
SCCM Remote Control – enables you to remote control the selected computer
SCCM Resource Explorer – start the SCCM Resource Explorer

For more information about these tools, refer to your Ivanti Endpoint Manager or Microsoft SCCM documentation. When using Endpoint Manager Remote Control, Web Desk first tries to use the HTML5 remote control client, but if this is unsuccessful (for example, if the agent does not support HTML5 remote control, or if the browser being used is unsupported for HTML5 remote control), then the legacy Windows client remote control application is used.

When you use the Ivanti Remote Tools, Ivanti SSH Tool, or Ivanti SFTP Tool menu items, a Details button appears in the window header that provides information about the remote connection.
