Using knowledge classifications
Whereas knowledge domains enable you to control which knowledge results are available to different groups of users, knowledge classifications (also known as taxonomies) enable you to make knowledge search results more accurate by limiting the search to only knowledge about a specific topic.
First, you need to configure which items you want to be used within the classification.
Configuring classifications
Before you can use classifications, you need to configure which items you want to be used within the classification. You do this using the Object Designer component to specify the search type.
You can choose only one attribute per business object to be included in the classification. You can, however, set different search types for other attributes within the same business object.
To specify that an attribute is included in a classification search:
- Start the Object Designer component.
- On the Business Objects tree, open the relevant business object, and on the Attributes tree, select the required attribute, for example the Category attribute on the Incident business object.
- On the Properties grid, alongside the Search Type property, select Is Classification.
- Click .
