Back up your previous installation (all versions)

Before making any significant changes to your system, we always recommend you back up your database. Before upgrading, there are some other files that we also recommend you back up so that, if needed, you can refer back to them at a later date.

Therefore, before starting the upgrade:

1. Take a full backup of your Ivanti database.
2. Back up the tps.config files from each subfolder of C:\ProgramData\LANDesk\ServiceDesk on your Ivanti Web server.
3. Back up CopySettings.xml from C:\Program Files\LANDesk\LANDesk ServiceDesk\Runtime\Integration (this file might not exist, depending on your system design).
4. Back up all of the *.config files from C:\Program Files\LANDesk\LANDesk ServiceDesk\.
5. Back up all of your reports from the reports folder.
