Ivanti Neurons for Mobile Threat Defense overview
The Ivanti Neurons for Mobile Threat Defense solution consists of three components:
- Ivanti Neurons for MDM Administrator console
- Ivanti Neurons for Mobile Threat Defense Client Application (Ivanti Go for iOS and Android)
- MTD Management Console (Ivanti Neurons for MTD’s Mobile Endpoint Security (MES) Console)

The MDM administrator can configure Ivanti Neurons for MDM to automatically install the required client application version, deploy and enable Ivanti Neurons for Mobile Threat Defense on selected devices, and configure the components to protect devices from mobile threats.
Below is the workflow to configure the Ivanti Neurons for Mobile Threat Defense:

- The administrator prepares Ivanti Neurons for MDM and the MTD Management Console for integration. See Ivanti Neurons for Mobile Threat Defense prerequisites.
- The MTD Management Console authenticates and establishes communication with Ivanti Neurons for MDM and synchronizes custom attributes and other device data. For more information about MTD console, see MTD console configurations.
- The administrator defines threat defense policies on the MTD Management Console and assigns them to different groups defined in the MTD Management Console. Each group will have its own activation code. Note that the Ivanti Neurons MTD "enrollment code" is used interchangeably with "activation code" in the MTD activation configuration. See Threat protection policy.
- Ivanti Neurons for Mobile Threat Defense is enabled on selected devices. See Activating Ivanti Neurons for Mobile Threat Defense for MDM.
- Ivanti Neurons for MTD-enabled Ivanti Go clients check in and begin communicating with the MTD console and with Ivanti Neurons for MDM
- (Optional) The administrator defines Ivanti Neurons for MTD Local Actions on the Ivanti Neurons for MDM console. See Configuring MTD Local Actions for Ivanti Neurons for MDM.
- Ivanti Neurons for MTD-enabled Ivanti Go clients periodically scan the device for threats, and actions are taken in accordance with defined server-initiated and local action policies.
