The following features and enhancements are a part of Mobile Threat Defense Solution Guide for Cloud 79.

General features and enhancements

There are no MTD general features or enhancements in this release.

Android features and enhancements

The following MTD features and enhancements are available for Android, Android Enterprise, and Samsung Knox devices in this release:

  • Support for additional phishing protection on the personal side of a managed device: With this release, MTD administrators have the option to enable Zimperium zIPS Phishing Protection (zPP) feature on the personal side of MTD-managed Android devices. To enable zPP to use a phishing database from a remote server:

    1. From the MTD console > Phishing Protection page, click Enable content inspection in remote server.
    2. Enable Phishing threats in the zIPS Threat Policy, and set the severity to Elevated or Critical.
    3. Click Phishing protection - Link Tapped.
    4. Click Phishing protection - Link Visited.
    5. Click Save.

iOS features and enhancements

The following MTD feature is available for iOS devices in this release:

  • Support for giving device users the option to continue to a "Risky URL": This feature allows Administrators to give iOS device users the option to select Continue Anyway to access a blocked website that has been flagged as "risky" by the MTD anti-phishing configuration. If MTD is used in a bring your own device (BYOD) environment, users can control their browsing choices. To enable this option, you must un-check the option Block detected phishing URLs on the MTD console > Phishing Policy page.
