What's New
Ivanti Ideas Feature Requests
The following user requests have been addressed in this version of Workspace Control:

User Settings Wizard is now working for MSIX
Adding a User Setting for an MSIX file with the Discover User Settings option works now, but if the app is not installed yet the following error displays:
Take the following steps to access the User Settings Wizard for the MSIX and configure the capturing:
-
Click OK.
-
Select Run application now. The Composer will run the MSIX, and the latter one will be opened.
- Close the app.
- Add it again in the Capturing tab with the Discover User Settings option.
- Continue setting it up as explained in Capture targeted items on application/session end in the Administration Guide.
A full installation of Workspace Control is necessary to run the User Settings Capture Wizard as the wizard makes use of the Workspace Control drivers. Also, to avoid conflicting results, no Workspace Control session may be running on the system on which the User Settings Capture Wizard runs.
The MSIX feature is currently in Early Access. For more details see MSIX integration for Workspace Control.

The IBM DB2 type of database is no longer supported in Workspace Control.

You can use the following wildcards in the Search field of Administration > Agent > Agents tab or Diagnostics > Agents Overview > Agents tab:
Wildcard Characters |
Description |
---|---|
* | Represents zero or more characters |
? | Represents a single character |
[] | Represents any single character within the brackets |
! | Represents any character not in the brackets |
- | Represents any single character within the specified range |
# | Represents any single numeric character |
A full string search is not possible.

This enhancement makes possible to automate actions outside of IWC environment. For example the tags data can be read by a PowerShell script to hand-over information to a third party application like VMware API. In this case it is possible to publish applications in VMwareHorizon View.

You can now configure whether a task should be executed or skipped per user session.
The setting is available for the Execute Command feature in the Composition node.
For more details, see Workspace Control Administration Guide.

Authorized files can now be exported to a CSV file.
For more details, see Workspace Control Administration Guide.

Prior to this upgrade, opening a managed application in the Console took around 6 seconds. The delay has not been improved but the window is displayed in 2 steps now. First, the edit application window is displayed after a few seconds with the message Loading data and after another few seconds it is filled in with details.

When an Agent signs in to a new Workspace Container, the Start Menu Tiles are restored if the migration of the user setting is set to Copy or Move.
The migration settings are configured under Console > Composition > User Settings > Settings tab > Migration Settings > Change button.

In Composition > Application > Application List, a new column called Network Learning Mode was added. It has reporting purpose, informing about Network Security running in learning mode for specific applications.

In the Edit application window, under Properties > General tab, two new fields were added: Custom Field 1 and Custom Field 2. They have information purpose only, so administrators can add notes. The notes are visible only in this dialog box.

The Use MS Azure when analyzing the workspace for the selected user option under the Diagnostics> User Sessions node was removed. Workspace Control detects automatically if a user session is Azure or non-Azure and executes in consequence, based on the presence of the external identity, which in Azure is the Object ID.

This new level implies the following database changes upon upgrade:
1) An strexternal identity column + related index will be added to tblLogs
2) An strexternal identiy column + related index will be added to tblicences

Under Composition> User Settings > context menu > New > Templates > Windows > 10 / 11/ 2016 / 2019

A second Microsoft Edge entry without an icon is present in the Start Menu in Workspace Controlmanaged session after upgrading to 10.9.30.0 or higher. In order for the resolution to work, the option Allow multiple shortcuts in Start Menu on the Managed Application for Microsoft Edge needs to be unchecked. This option can be found in the Console under Composition > Applications > Managed Application for Edge > Properties > Shortcuts. In certain scenarios starting Microsoft Edge by using the Managed Shortcut in the Start Menu will re-introduce a duplicate entry for Microsoft Edge without an icon in the Start Menu.
