Publishing
Use the Publishing tab of a managed application to publish the managed application as a Citrix XenApp published application, as Citrix XenApp published content, or as a Microsoft RemoteApp application.
- A Citrix XenApp published application is an application that runs on a Citrix XenApp server, but which behaves as if it were running on the user's local computer. Citrix XenApp published content is a file (such as a PDF document, a media file, or a URL) in any network location in your environment. When the content is published, a shortcut to the document is placed in the end user's Start Menu. See Publish Citrix XenApp Applications.
- A Microsoft RemoteApp application is an application that runs on a Terminal Server, but because it integrates seamlessly with the user desktop, it behaves as if it were running on the user's computer. See Set up Microsoft RemoteApp applications
Quick publish
Managed applications can also be published by right-clicking on an application and then selecting Quick Edit > Publishing > Publish. A dialog box appears prompting to select between Citrix XenApp Published Application or Microsoft RemoteApp.
Depending on the option selected, this action activates the Enable Citrix XenApp Application Publishing option or the Enable Microsoft RemoteApp Publishing option on the application's Properties > Publishing tab.
Quick unpublish
Managed applications can also be unpublished by right-clicking on an application and then selecting Quick Edit > Publishing > Unpublish. A dialog box appears prompting to select between Citrix XenApp Published Application or Microsoft RemoteApp. Depending on the option selected, this action deactivates the Enable Citrix XenApp Application Publishing option or the Enable Microsoft RemoteApp Publishing option on the application's Properties > Publishing tab.
