Adding E-Mail Contacts

Each alert profile can notify one or more e-mail addresses when related events occur. If you want the Avalanche Console to notify you of an alert by e‑mail, add the e-mail address to the Profiled Contacts list for that profile. The entire contact list will receive e‑mails for all alerts generated by that profile.

You must configure the e-mail settings before Avalanche will send e-mails when alerts are generated. For information on configuring e-mail settings, see Configuring E-mail Settings.

A list of e-mail addresses in a comma-delimited .csv file (for example, one exported from Microsoft Outlook) can be imported in order to add multiple e-mail addresses at a time. You can also export the e-mail addresses associated with an alert profile to a .csv file.

To add an e-mail contact:

1.From the Available Profiles panel on the Profiles tab, click on the alert profile you want to edit.

The Alert Profile Details page appears.

2.Click Edit.

The Edit Alert Profile page appears.

3.Click New in the Email Recipients panel.

The Add Email Recipient dialog box appears.

4.Type the First NameLast Name, and Email Address in the provided text boxes and click Save.

The contact appears in the Email Recipient panel.

To import e-mail addresses:

1.From the Available Profiles panel on the Profiles tab, click on the alert profile you want to edit.

The Alert Profile Details page appears.

2.Click Edit.

3.In the Email Recipients panel, click Import.

The Import Email Recipients dialog box appears.

4.Click Browse to navigate to and select the .csv file that contains the e-mail addresses that you want to import.

5.Click Open.

6.Click Save.

The contacts appear in the Email Recipients panel.

Click Save.

To export e-mail addresses:

1.From the Available Profiles panel on the Profiles tab, click on the alert profile you want to edit.

The Alert Profile Details page appears.

2.In the Email Recipients panel, select the check boxes next to the e-mail addresses you want to export and click Export.

In the Email Recipients panel, click Export All.

The Opening EmailExport.csv dialog box appears.

3.Enable the Save File option and click OK.

The e-mail addresses are saved to a local .csv file.
