Use the Adapter tab in the Avalanche Update Settings dialog box to configure network and wireless management. Different options are available depending on whether it is accessed from the Wavelink Product Configuration window or from the device.
Adapter Tab
The following list describes the options in the Adapter tab:
Manage Settings - Manage Network |
Indicates whether the Enabler should manage all network settings (IP address, DNS, subnet mask, gateway, domain). Default Value: <Enabled> |
Manage Settings - Manage Wireless |
Indicates whether the Enabler should manage all wireless settings (SSID, encryption and authentication methods and credentials). Default Value: <Enabled> |
User Interface - Enable Network UI |
Indicates whether the Manage Network Settings option on the Enabler interface Adapter tab is accessible to the mobile device user. Default Value: <Enabled> |
User Interface - Enable Wireless UI |
Indicates whether the Manage Wireless Settings option on the Enabler interface Adapter tab is accessible to the mobile device user. Default Value: <Enabled> |
Show Primary Adapter Status on Taskbar (Icon on taskbar) |
Indicates whether the mobile device will display the status of the primary adapter on the locked taskbar. Default Value: <Enabled> |
Custom Network Properties - Name |
Indicates a name for a custom network property. |
Custom Network Properties - Value |
Indicates a value for a custom network property. |
Custom Network Properties - Add |
Adds the information in the Name and Value fields as a custom network property. |
Custom Network Properties - Remove |
Removes the selected network property from the properties list. This will not remove a property from the device. |
Use Avalanche Network Profile |
Uses the applied Avalanche network profile for network settings. Use the [...] button to view the Avalanche network profile. |
Use Manual Settings |
Allows the device user to configure network settings that the Enabler will apply on the device. Use the [...] button to configure manual settings for the device. |
When you configure manual settings from the device and tap [...], you have the option to configure the IP address, subnet mask, gateway address, DNS and domain name server addresses, SSID, as well as encryption and authentication methods and credentials.
