Managing Port Monitors

A Port Monitor is a software component that handles communication between a mobile device and a Wavelink Server. As the name suggests, Port Monitors focus on a specific TCP/IP or serial port, where they await requests from mobile devices to start a specific application.

Port Monitors operate on a one-to-one ratio—one Port Monitor connects to only one port and only one application.

If you do not specify an application, Wavelink assigns the Wavelink Program Manager application to the Port Monitor.
