Mode settings
The settings on the Host > Mode tab depend on the project type and emulation type. Not all features are available for all project types.
•Default native mode. Forces the Velocity Client to display screens in Native Mode (black-and-green screen) when you connect to the host profile. If this option is not selected, the Client's HTML rendering engine is used to update the appearance of screens.
•Allow user to switch modes. Allows the user to voluntarily switch between Native mode and Modern mode. When this is disabled, the user cannot choose which mode to use.
•Auto switch to native mode. If the Client is in Modern Mode and a template doesn't exist for a screen, the Client shows the Native Mode screen instead. This performs best when the Disable predictive formatting option is also used.
•Disable predictive formatting. Disables all predictive screens so that they do not appear on the Velocity Client. Any screen labeled as "Predictive" on the Screens tab cannot be used on the Client. Only screens that have been edited and are labeled as "Template" are usable at the device level. For more information about predictive versus template screens, see Editing screen elements.
Predictive formatting should only be disabled if you have made manual changes to each screen. If a screen is unedited and displays as "Predictive" from the Screens tab, then the screen will not load at the device level and only displays a wait screen. No inputs are allowed on these screens. If you do not want to use modified screens at all, use the Default native mode option.
•Screen rotation. Specifies which screen orientations are supported on the device.
•Default zoom level. The default zoom percentage when the first page loads. This option is only available for Web sessions.
•Keep device awake. Prevents the device from falling asleep while Velocity is the active app. This keeps the screen on and may drain the battery faster. If Velocity is running in the background, this feature does not keep the device awake.
•Immersive mode. Hides the system bar and toolbar. The bars are still shown temporarily if the user swipes down from the top of the screen (iOS or Android) or up from the bottom of the screen (Android).
•Show battery level indicator. Shows a battery level icon in the Client. Use the Indicator location option to set where in the Client the indicator is displayed.
•Show Wi-Fi strength indicator. Shows a Wi-Fi signal strength icon in the Client. Use the Indicator location option to set where in the Client the indicator is displayed. This option is available for Android and Windows Clients.
•Indicator location. Set the location of the battery level indicator and the WiFi strength indicator when they are enabled. You can set it to the top right, top left, bottom right, or bottom left.
•Enable copy/paste. Allows the user to copy text from a screen and paste from the clipboard. The user can double-click, right-click, or tap-and-drag to copy, and double-click or long-press to get the paste option. Paste always places the content where the text cursor is.
•Auto reconnect. If the host disconnects, the Client attempts to reconnect automatically without user interaction. This option is only available for TE projects.
•Allow file upload. Allows device users to upload files to the host if the host supports it. This option is only available for Web projects.
