Creating and editing forms

Forms are created in Ivanti Neurons and submitted through the Velocity Client. To create a form, drag and drop pre-built elements like checkboxes, date and time, or a camera button on to a HTML page.

For information about viewing form submissions, see Viewing form submissions.

Form elements

By default, a form has some elements built in. Each form has a Cancel and a Submit button, a header for the form title, and the option to add a logo to the top of the form. These elements cannot be removed, although adding a logo is not required.

There is also a list of elements on the left side that can be added to the form. These include headings and paragraphs, text fields, radio buttons, check boxes, and dropdown lists. Click or drag-and-drop an element to add it to the page.

After an element has been added to the form, click the Edit button to configure the element options.

The options available depend on the purpose of the element. While you are editing an element, a panel on the right side of the Console explains the options available for the element.

Values in the fields (for example, if you type something in a text box or select a radio button) are not retained when the form is previewed or saved. To automatically populate a field with data when the form is loaded by the Velocity Client, use the Autofill option.

Form states

Forms can be in a Draft state or a Published state. Choose the state of the form when you select the Save button: Save as Draft or Save and Publish.

When a form is in a Draft state, the Velocity Client won't load it. The form isn't shown in the Client menu and is not available to Velocity scripts. Users with the correct permissions can edit the form and/or change it to a Published state.

When a form is in a Published state, the Velocity Client can load and submit the form. It also shows in the context menu in the Client during a session if that option is configured. If a published form is not configured to show in the context menu, load it using a script or by configuring a specific keypress to load the form.

Other form settings

Other form settings are available while the form is being edited. Select the Settings button at the top right corner of the page to edit these options:

Show form in context menu. Determines whether or not the form name is shown in the context menu on the Velocity Client. For example, you may disable this option when you only want a form to be launched by a script.

Dark mode. If you want the form to have a black background, enable the Dark mode option in the top right corner of the Form builder. When a form is published with Dark mode enabled, all devices that load the form will load it in Dark mode. Dark mode is set on a per-form basis and the user is not allowed to change how the form loads. All forms default to a white background.

Submission is mandatory. After the form is opened in the Velocity Client, the form cannot be canceled or closed until it is submitted. The user can switch to a different session, however.

To create a new form

1.From the Forms page (Supply Chain Intelligence > Forms), select Add form.

2.Provide a name and a description for the form and select Add form.

3.On the Form builder page, select or drag-and-drop elements from the column on the left onto the form in the center of the page to add them to the new form.

4.When an element has been added to the form, select the Edit button (at the top right corner of the element) to modify its properties. The properties vary depending on the type of the element, but the details of the properties are shown in the informational panel on the left of the page when an element is being edited.

If you want to see what the form will look like for device users, select the Preview button at the top right side of the page.

5.When you have finished editing the form, select Save in the top right corner of the page. If you want the form to be available to devices immediately, select Save and publish. If you do not want the form to be available, select Save as draft.

To edit a form

1.From the Forms page (Supply Chain Intelligence > Forms), you can either:

Select the name of the form that you want to edit. On the Form page, select the Edit form button.

For the form you want to edit, click the More options button in the Actions column and select Edit.

2.Edit the form as desired and save your changes.

If a form has already been submitted and then you edit the components, the submitted data is still associated with the form. However, if the component that the data is associated with has been deleted, the data will not show in the Submissions table for the form.
