Configuring Host Profiles

A host profile defines the settings that the Velocity Client should use when it attempts to initiate a connection with a specific host. The host profile may include the emulation type, IP address of the host, or other settings. You may configure an unlimited number of host profiles from the device or through the Velocity Console.

When a device user attempts to initiate a session with a host, the Velocity Client displays a list of available host profiles. The user selects the host he wants to connect to, and the Velocity Client uses the host profile settings to connect to the host.

Depending on the emulation type, different options are available when configuring a host profile. The following options are available when you configure a host profile in the Velocity Client:

ClosedAutologin (TE only)

ClosedAuthorization (TE & Oracle SIM)

ClosedSSH Settings (TE only)

ClosedSSL Settings (TE & Oracle SIM)

ClosedConnectPro Settings (TE only)

To add a host profile

1.Tap the Add button in the top-right corner of the screen.

2.Configure the host profile as desired.

3.Tap the Back button on your device

4.Tap Yes on the Confirm Changes dialog to save the host profile.

5.Tap the host profile from the Host Profiles screen to connect.

To edit a host profile

1.From the Host Profiles screen, tap and hold a host profile.

The Modify Host Profile dialog appears.

2.Tap Edit.

3.If a password is required, type the password in the text box and tap OK. (The default password is system.)

4.Edit the host profile as desired.

5.Tap the Back button on your device to save the changes.

6.Tap the host profile from the Host Profiles screen to connect.

To delete a host profile

1.From the Host Profiles screen, tap and hold a host profile.

2.If a password is required, type the password in the text box and tap OK. The default password is system.

The Modify Host Profile dialog appears.

3.Tap Delete.

The host profile is deleted.
