Service Catalog Template Good to Know

A Service Catalog Template is a deliverable that is comprised of related Work Units and available to customers from the Service Catalog in the CSM Customer Portal.

  • The Critical Path Time is based on attached Work Units, Dependencies, and Incident SLAs.
  • Search for one or more Service Catalog Templates that meet a specific criteria by running a Quick Search or Search Group.
  • Create a new Service Catalog Template in either the CSM Desktop Client or the CSM Browser Client.
  • By default, Service Catalog Template uses the Incident Service subcategory structure. Navigate to Category options by selecting Tools > Table Management > Type > Incident Category.
  • The system implements several Actions and One-Step Actions to make creating Service Catalog Templates more efficient.
    A full list of One-Step Actions is beyond the scope of this document. Export a schema document from CSM Administrator (Create a Blueprint > Tools > Export Schema to view a full list of One-Step Actions associated with a particular type of Business Object (example: Major).
  • Fields:
    • Press Tab to move to the next field on the form.
    • The Description and Portal Description fields are rich text fields. To format the text or embed an image, select the Zoom button Zoom Button.
    • The Title, Portal Title, Description, Portal Description, and Service Classification fields are required to save the record.
  • Secure Service Catalog Template records by controlling who can view, create, and edit records.
