Authentication to the Service Monitor requires the base URL of the Cherwell®
REST API in the
following format: https://host.domain/CherwellAPI/api/. If the URL is
not already set, the system will prompt for it during installation, upgrading, or system
restore. If this step is skipped, the URL must be configured in the
Security section of CSM Administrator or
through the command line.
Use the Cherwell Monitor Log (.txt) file to track Service Monitor operations
(example: Each time a user selects a Service Monitor button).
Servers and Web Applications can be restarted without resetting IIS
because the restart modifies the web.config files for each, which causes the
applications to be recompiled and restarted.
The Application Server is special because it forms the interface
between the Client applications and database (a 3-tier connection).
If the Application Server is installed under IIS Server, only one
server can be running. The other is listed as unavailable.
