Assigning a policy to Preferred Server

After configuring the preferred server, assign a policy to download the content from preferred servers.

To create a policy, see Agent Policies for more information.

To assign a policy

1. Navigate to the Agents > Agent Policies > Create a new Agent Policy/Select an existing Policy.

2. Click Agent settings tab.

3. Enable Download from preferred server.

4. Select one of the following options:

   Setting	Description
   Preferred Server	Select one of the preferred servers from the drop-down list. For more information on creating a preferred server, see Adding a Preferred Server.   Select + to add multiple preferred servers.   By adding multiple preferred servers, Ivanti Neurons scans for the downloaded content in all the preferred servers. If it fails to find the content, Ivanti Neurons automatically downloads the content in the order of peer, preferred servers, and other cloud servers. You can add a maximum of 3 preferred servers to a policy.
   Detect by IP address	Ivanti Neurons will download content from the nearest Preferred Server, based on the target endpoint's IP address. For more information on specifying the IP address range, see Adding IP address range.

5. Click Create Policy.
