Configuring MDM Integration

Several settings must be defined in the DSM Infrastructure so that DSM can start communicating with Ivanti HEAT MDM or any other third-party MDM solution. After defining these settings, you can access the MDM solution's web interface directly in the DSM Console. When using Ivanti HEAT MDM, the synchronization is included as well. Please refer to the respective documentation for further details on the functionality of Ivanti HEAT MDM or any other third-party MDM solution.

Ivanti HEAT MDM

How to configure Management Point for the connection with Ivanti HEAT MDM:

1. Go to the Infrastructure view.
2. Unlock the configuration database.
3. Open the Properties of any Management Point.
   The only requirement for the Management Point is an internet connection and a Transport Layer. When you install Ivanti HEAT MDM Integration, the Transport Layer is installed automatically if required.

4. Install the management application Ivanti HEAT MDM Integration Service.

   The Ivanti HEAT MDM Integration Service is installed. This management application is used later for synchronization with Ivanti HEAT MDM.
   Communication between the Management Point Server and the Ivanti HEAT MDM Installation must be guaranteed. DSM uses the configured internet proxy settings of the Management Point to set up the connection.

How to configure the connection to Ivanti HEAT MDM:

1. Go to the Infrastructure view.
2. Select the ORG object in the Navigation window.
3. Select the Expert mode and unlock the configuration database.
4. Select the Configuration tab in the Object window.
5. Open the Mobile Device Management (MDM) section in the Settings.
6. Select Ivanti HEAT MDM as MDM Product.

   The required entries are displayed.

7. Specify the following settings:
    MDM Server Name
    Ivanti HEAT MDM: Synchronization Interval
    Ivanti HEAT MDM: Synchronization Timeframe
    Ivanti HEAT MDM: Web Service User
    Ivanti HEAT MDM: Password of Web Service User

Third-party MDM Solution

How to configure the connection to a third-party MDM solution:

1. Go to the Infrastructure view.
2. Select the ORG object in the Navigation window.
3. Select the Expert mode and unlock the configuration database.
4. Select the Configuration tab in the Object window.
5. Open the Mobile Device Management (MDM) section in the Settings.
6. Select Generic as MDM Product.

   The required entries are displayed.

7. Specify the following settings:
    MDM Server Name
    URL for Home Page
    URL for Device Details
