Administration of Users and CIs from a process

You can enable certain user and CI administration functions from within a process. You can:

• create users, groups and CIs as part of a process
• manage the linking of users, groups and CIs as part of a process

This is different from the Create Configuration Item action in a Change process, which displays the Configuration Management component so that you can create a new CI. This functionality enables you to display the appropriate New CI window directly from any process.

There are four basic steps to set up the administration of users and CIs from a process, although you can extend this functionality by incorporating other design features as appropriate.

The four basic steps are:

• Adding the action that creates the objects
• Using the Create action in a process
• Adding the action that links objects
• Using the Link action in a process
