Velocity Host Profile Configuration Payload (Android)
A TE Host Profile Configuration payload sends a host profile to the Velocity Client installed on a Smart device. The payload can be applied to folders that contain both Android and iOS devices, but some options are not supported on both platforms.
A Velocity host profile configuration payload has the following options:
Host Settings
Payload name (Profile name)
The name of the host profile.
Address
The IP address or host name of the host system to which the mobile device will connect.
Type
The emulation type that the mobile device uses when connected to the host system.
Use Velocity Server Load Balancing
Use this option when you have multiple Velocity Servers in your environment. The Client will randomly select one of the server addresses to connect to, rather than always connecting to the first server in the list.
Server Settings
Server Address
The address of the Velocity Server.
Port
The port the Velocity Server is using.
Server Version
The version of the Velocity Server.
Terminate Server Session
Indicates when the Velocity server should terminate the connection to the host.
Possible Values:
•Never. The server never terminates the session established with the host. The Client is responsible for terminating the session.
•On Network Error. The server terminates the session with the host when a network error occurs, such as a loss of network connectivity.
•On Session Exit. The server terminates the session with the host when the session is terminated by the Client.
•Always. The server will terminate the session with the host on a network error or when the session is terminated.
Reconnect if Unexpectedly Disconnected
If the Client is disconnected without receiving a message from the server that it was disconnecting, the Client will try to reconnect to the server.
Encryption Type
The type of encryption the Client and Server should use to communicate.
Encryption Key
The encryption key to use.
Proxy
Connection Type
Indicates whether to use a direct connection or a proxy.
Server Address
The address of the proxy server.
Port
The port the proxy server is using.
Not on local hosts
Do not use a proxy server when the host is on the local network.
Name and Password
The credentials to access the proxy server.
AutoLaunch Session
Auto Launch Session
Associates the host profile with a session. When the user switches to the session, the Client automatically begins a session using the host profile settings. You can configure autolaunch for one host profile for each session. Each host profile is launched only once each time the Client runs.
Web Insert List
Use a host profile to add elements to HTML pages when you don't have access to the pages on the web host. Create the HTML in a text file, then select the position it should be inserted on the page and the files to add it to. The following options are available when you insert a text file:
Description
A description of the element to be inserted.
Position to insert the text into the web page
Where in the existing page the text should be inserted. Options include the beginning of the <head> element, the end of the <head> element, the beginning of the <body> element, or the end of the <body> element.
URL Fragment
Part of the target pages' URL that must be matched in order for the text to be inserted.
Search Text
Text on the target pages that must be matched in order for the text to be inserted.

Configuration Settings
The settings in this tab are for configuring per-host options. They are only applied when the Client is using the host profile. These options will override any options set either through the settings on the device or in a Velocity Configuration Settings payload. For information about the configuration settings available, see Velocity Client Settings Payload (Android).
To create a Velocity host profile payload
1.From the Profiles tab, click New Payload in the Available Payloads panel.
2.The Payload dialog box appears. Select the iOS and Android option and then click Velocity Host Profile Configuration.
3.The host profile options appear. Options are organized by the tabs on the left. Configure the payload and click Save.
To apply the settings on devices, add the payload to an Application Configuration profile and apply the profile to a folder. Once you have performed a deployment, licensed devices assigned to that folder receive the settings the next time they check in. If a device is unlicensed, print the QR code associated with the folder and scan it with the device to configure the Client. For information on printing the QR code associated with a folder, see Configuring Software on Unenrolled Smart Devices.
