What's New in This Version

New in Velocity Client 1.2.107

Localized interface. The Velocity Client interface is now localized to support multiple languages. The language used on the app is based on the language selected by the device's operating system. For example, if the language of your operating system is English, then only the English version of the app will be used. The following languages are now supported:

Chinese, Standard

Chinese, Traditional

French

German

Japanese

Korean

Portuguese

Spanish

Thai

Transparent keyboard support. From the Velocity Console, administrators can set a host profile to use transparent keyboards. When a device is navigated to a screen in either native or modern modes, a transparent keyboard will overlay the screen. Users can type on the keyboard while still seeing the fields beneath. This is especially helpful for screens with lower resolutions.

Connect to host profile upon Velocity client launch. From the Velocity Console, administrators can set a host profile to automatically connect when the Velocity Client is launched.

Native screen font size. Administrators can alter the size of text for native screens from the Velocity Console to better accommodate high and low resolution screens.

Disable screen panning. Administrators can prevent accidental screen taps that may result in panning or zooming. From the Velocity Console, disabling this for a host will affix the native screen to the top-left corner of the device screen.

New in Velocity Client 1.2.104

Voice-enabled sessions. Using Ivanti Speakeasy, you can utilize text-to-speech (TTS) and speech-to-text (STT) for hands-free use of the Velocity Client. This feature translates data from the current screen into spoken directions, and then transcribes your spoken response.

Headset pairing. You can pair headsets through the Android Settings app or the Velocity Client using Bluetooth or NFC. Pairing through the Settings app will allow you to use your headset in any session, whereas pairing in the client only applies to that session. You can also use a wired headset without the need of pairing.

Quick calibration. After pairing a device, Velocity requires calibration to measure background noise against the volume of your voice. Once paired, you can use Speakeasy during a session.

Default to Native Mode. This setting forces the client to display screens in Native Mode (black and green screen) when you connect to the host profile.

New in Velocity Client 1.2.101

Native green screen support. The Client can now handle exclusive use in green screen as opposed to using HTML rendering.

Improved Web support. The Velocity Console and Client support additional Web host applications, including Manhattan SCALE and SAP ITSMobile.

SSH Telnet negotiation string support. For VT emulation types using Telnet negotiation strings, you can still utilize this functionality when using SSH.

HTML resource host profile support. You can attach an HTML file as a project resource and reference the file with file:/// in the host address URL.

New in Velocity Client 1.2.100

Re-enter an active session. If you're connected to a session and run the Client in the background on a device, when you re-launch the Client you can enter back into the active session without having to re-connect or lose progress. Connected sessions display from the Host Profiles screen with a blue dot to the right of the host profile details. Simply tap the host profile and then tap the option to either create another session or enter the current active session. Multiple active sessions are supported for a host profile.

New in Velocity Client 1.2

Web support. Enter a URL to a web profile and Velocity will interpret the HTML elements on your screens for mobile devices.

Internationalization. By setting a server language for a host profile, you can now allow the Client to interpret international characters from specific codepages, like UTF-8 Unicode.

New in Velocity Client 1.0.1

Autologin parameters. When creating host profiles, administrators can enter values for the username and password fields to automatically log users into a host profile or prompt for login credentials. These credentials can be set as variables such as a store or gun number so that when a user launches the Velocity Client on their device, they must then enter the login credentials requested for that variable to log in. For more information, see Configuring Host Profiles.

Configuration password protection. Access to editing a host profile on the Velocity Client is restricted and requires a password from device users. For more information, see Configuring Host Profiles.
