Edge Settings

On the Edge Settings page you can manage Edge Intelligence Configurations, which contain settings related to the Generic Behavior and the Monitoring feature of Edge Intelligence.
You assign a Configuration to endpoints using Agent Policies. On a policy, enable the Edge Intelligence capability and select the desired Configuration. See also Agent Policies. After assigning or editing a configuration, please allow for the timing interval for Agent Check-in before the changes take effect.

You must have a role with Edge Intelligence > Configure permissions to manage Edge Intelligence Configurations. For more information about Roles and Permissions, see Access Control.

To access the Edge Intelligence Settings page, navigate to Insights > Edge Settings.

Create a Configuration

  1. Select Create Configuration.
The New Edge Intelligence Configuration page opens.

  2. Specify a Configuration Name and (optionally) a Description.

  3. Specify the settings that you want to apply to endpoints when they are assigned this configuration:

    • On the Generic Behavior tab you can Enable the location sensor on endpoints that run Microsoft Windows.
If you disable the location sensor, location data is not collected by Edge Intelligence and is therefore not available to any of your Neurons Platform members.
The location sensor also requires access to https://edgelocation.ivanticloud.com. For more information about URLs and IP addresses used by the Neurons Platform, see Required URLs, IP addresses and ports.

If the location sensor is enabled, location data is available to members with Edge Intelligence > View Location permissions. For more information about Roles and Permissions, see Access Control.

For devices running Apple macOS, there is currently a global setting for the location sensor in the Ivanti Edge Intelligence Configuration panel.

    • On the Monitoring tab you can select the metrics you want to monitor on the endpoints to which this configuration applies.
Currently, the following metrics can be monitored: CPU Utilization, Memory Usage, Location, Battery Health and Disk Space.
The indicator next to the name of the metric indicates the OS family (e.g. Microsoft Windows or Apple macOS) for which the metric can be monitored.
See the info bullet at the end of the brief description of the metric for information about where to access the collected data.

You can apply a Configuration to endpoints that do not support some or all of the settings. These settings will simply be ignored.

  4. When you have completed your settings, click Save in the top-right corner.
The Edit Configuration button becomes available.

  5. Select the left-arrow in the top-left corner to return to the Edge Intelligence Settings main page.

Edit a Configuration

  1. Click on the name of the Configuration that you want to edit. Alternatively, select the check box next to the Configuration and select Actions > Open Configuration.
The View Edge Intelligence Configuration page opens.

  2. In the top-right corner of the page, select Edit Configuration.
The View page changes into the Edit Edge Intelligence Configuration page.

  3. When you have completed editing your settings, click Save in the top-right corner.

  4. Select the arrow in the top-left corner to return to the Edge Intelligence Settings main page.

Delete a Configuration

  1. Select the check box next to the Configuration. You can select multiple Configurations.

  2. Select Actions > Delete Configuration(s).
    A confirmation dialog appears.

  3. After you have confirmed the dialog, the system will attempt to delete the selected Configuration(s). Only Configurations that are not in use in any Agent Policy Capabilities can be deleted.

  4. If the system cannot delete a Configuration, a dialog stating the reason appears and a Warning icon is displayed next to the Configuration name.
In this case find the Agent Policy that uses the Configuration in its Edge Intelligence capability, and configure it to use a different Configuration.
After you have done that, you can delete the Configuration that you tried to remove.
