Machine View Top Pane Summary

The grid in the top pane contains detailed information about every machine in your network that has been scanned and whose information resides in the database. Click on a column heading to sort the grid by that information. Right-click on a column heading and select Column Chooser to add or remove columns from the display.

The refresh icon () refreshes all machine information in the top pane. The latest information for all machines is retrieved and newly scanned machines may appear.

Field

Description

Last scanned group

The machine group the machine belonged to at the time of the most recent scan. Because a machine can change machine groups or be in multiple machine groups, the name is dynamic.

Assigned group

The group to which this machine is assigned within Machine View and Scan View.

An assigned group is not the same as a machine group. An assigned group is only used within Machine View and Scan View.

This column is used for organizational purposes within Machine View and Scan View. For example, machines that share similar attributes such as physical location or the same agent policy might be assigned to the same group.

The group assignment is preserved regardless of whether the Last Scanned Group value changes. For this reason, the Assigned Group column is often used within Machine View to sort, filter and search for specific assigned groups and then perform actions on the machines in those groups.

This column is particularly useful with machines such as Cloud agents, as they do not belong to a machine group and will not be automatically assigned to a group.

Machines can be assigned to a group a number of different ways.

  • The default group is the machine group name and it will be applied during agentless operations such as patch scans, asset scans and power status scans, or a push installation of an agent from a machine group.
  • You can manually assign machines to a group using the Machine Properties dialogs. For information on how to manually assign machines to a group, see Managing Individual Machine Properties and Managing Multiple Machine Properties.
  • Agent machines can be assigned to a group during deployments initiated from the REST API.
  • Agent machines can be assigned to a group if the agent activation key is created from the console machine or from the cloudsync function in the REST API. The assigned group information becomes a part of the agent key and is automatically included when you specify the ACTIVATIONKEY in an agent manual installation script or some other deployment tool.

Domain

The domain of the scanned machine.

Machine name

The name of the machine. The associated icon indicates whether the computer is a physical or online virtual Windows machine (), a Linux machine (), an offline virtual machine (), or a virtual machine template ().

IP address

The IP address of the scanned machine.

Health

A visual representation of the percentage of installed patches (green) vs. missing patches (red).

Installed patches

The total number of patches found on the scanned machine.

Missing patches

The total number of patches missing on the scanned machine.

Missing product levels

(Windows only) The total number of product levels missing on the scanned machine.

EOL products

The number of software products on the machine that have been designated as at End-of-Life by their vendor.

OS type

The type of operating system used on this machine.

OS language

The locale of the machine operating system (e.g., en-US).

OS

The operating system being used on the scanned machine. If the operating system is shown in red it indicates that it has reached its end-of-life (EOL) phase and the vendor will limit support for the product.

Agent state

The current state of the agent installed on the machine. If an agent is not installed the No Agent icon is displayed.

Assigned agent policy

The name of the agent policy currently assigned to the scanned machine.

Last agent check In

Shows the last time the agent checked in with the console.

Agent version

The version number of the agent currently installed on this machine.

Assigned AC configuration

The name of the Application Control configuration currently assigned to the scanned machine.

Virtual server

(Windows only) The name of the server that is hosting the virtual machine. This column does not apply to physical machines.

VM name

(Windows only) The name of the virtual machine. This column does not apply to physical machines.

VM inventory path

The full path name of the hosted virtual machine. This column does not apply to physical machines.

Latest patch scan date

Shows the last time a patch scan was performed on the scanned machine.

Assigned credential name

The credentials currently assigned to this machine.

Console

The console that most recently managed this machine.

Asset definition

The version of the Asset Definition data used in the last asset scan of this machine.

Last asset scan template

The Asset Scan Template used in the latest asset scan of this machine.

Last patch scan template

The Patch Scan Template used in the latest patch scan of this machine.

Latest asset scan date

The date of the most recent asset scan of this machine.

Patch definition

The version of the Patch Definition data used in the last patch scan of this machine.

Reported agent policy

This applies only to agent machines. This is the agent policy last reported by the agent. It may differ from the Assigned Agent Policy if a new policy has been assigned but the agent has not checked in since the assignment was made.

Using latest policy

Specifies if the machine is using the latest agent policy. If it is not, it may because a new policy has been assigned but the agent has not checked in to receive the latest policy.

RDP port

The port on this machine that is used to make a Remote Desktop connection.

Machine criticality

The criticality assigned to this machine in the Manage Machine Properties dialog. Right-click one or more machines and select Machine Properties to edit this value.
