Menu Commands
The menu commands that are available are dependent upon your particular product license.
The Security Controls menus enable you to do the following:

•Agentless operation: Perform a new agentless operation
•Machine Group: Create a new machine group
•Agent Policy: Create a new agent policy
•Favorite: Create a new favorite
•Windows Patch:
•Patch Group: Create a new Windows patch group
•Patch Scan Template: Create a new Windows patch scan template
•Deployment Template: Create a new Windows deployment template
•Product Level Group: Create a new Windows product level group
•Linux Patch:
•Patch Group: Create a new Linux patch group
•Patch Scan Configuration: Create a new Linux patch scan configuration for use within an agent policy
•Patch Deployment Configuration: Create a new Linux patch deployment configuration for use within an agent policy

•Power State Template: Create a new power state template
•Asset Scan Template: Create a new asset scan template
•

•Machine Group: Imports an existing group definition from an encrypted XML file
•Windows Patch Group: Imports an existing patch group definition from a text file
•CVEs: Import a list of CVEs
•Add vCenter Server/ESXi Hypervisor: Add a vCenter Server or an ESXi Hypervisor to your virtual inventory
•Application Control Configuration: Imports an existing Application Control Configuration file

•Charts: Displays a number of charts that show the security status of your network at the time of the most recent machine scans
•Machines: Displays current information about every machine in your network that has been previously scanned
•Windows Patches: Provides detailed information about patches for the various operating systems and applications scanned for by Security Controls
•
•Event History: Displays log entries that are generated by background operational events
•
•Operations Monitor: Launches the Security Controls Operations Monitor, which tracks a number of different background tasks
•Deployment Tracker: Launches Security Controls Deployment Tracker, which tracks deployment tasks that are currently in progress
•Refresh: Refresh the information displayed in the right-hand pane

•Address Book: Displays the address book used to store the names and email addresses of contacts you wish to send reports
•Credentials: Launches the Credential Manager, which manages all credentials used within the program
•Database Maintenance: Displays a list of all prior scans and patch deployments and enables you to perform maintenance tasks on the database. Schedule Application Control daily maintenance

•Users: Used to assign specific roles to specific administrators
•Custom Patches: Used to create and manage custom patches, products, and bulletins
•Scheduled Console Tasks: Launches the Scheduled Console Tasks Manager, which is used to monitor the status of tasks that have been scheduled to run on the console

•Search Machine Groups: Launches the Search Machine Groups dialog, which enables you to search for names in any of your existing machine groups.
•Edit console description: Launches the Edit Console Description dialog, which is used to change the name the program uses when referring to the console
•Console alias editor: Launches the Console Alias Editor dialog, which is used to assign trusted names and IP addresses to the console certificate
•Create report: Launches the Report Gallery, which is used to generate a variety of reports on any of the scans and patch deployments that have been performed
•Schedule report: Launches the Schedule Report dialog
•Custom Patch Editor: Used to create and manage custom patches, products, and bulletins
•

•Auto-update definitions: Automatically downloads new data definition files immediately before performing a new scan. Enabling this check box will also enable the Auto-update definitions (before scans) check box on the Tools > Options > Downloads dialog.
•Options: Launches the Options dialog, which enables you to configure a number of different program options

•Enter/refresh license Key: Enables you to activate the program or to upgrade your program license
•Check for program updates: Checks if a new version of the program is available
•Refresh files: Downloads new versions of the data definition files and the command files used by the program
•
•View help: Display the Help system
•
•Contact Technical Support: Opens the Security Controls Community page within your default web browser
•About Security Controls: Displays program version information as well as information about your licensed capabilities
