Where to Install Each Component
Certain CAM components must be installed in certain locations.

System administrator’s machine any other machines from which CAM will be administered. |

On-premises installations: A machine running a supported version of Microsoft SQL Server. For smaller implementations), SQL Server Express Edition is provided in the 3rd Party folder of the CAM installation package. Hosted installations: Cherwell manages the CAM database. |
| Reporting, Purchasing, License Analytics, SaaS Analytics, and CAM REST API |
On-premises installations: A machine running a supported version of Windows Server with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS). Install these web applications on the same machine. Hosted installations: Cherwell manages the web applications; they are not installed on-premises. |
| CAM Access Point |
On-premises installations: A machine running a supported version of Windows Server with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS). Hosted installations: Refer to the email message you received from Cherwell for instructions on installing the CAM Access Point Proxy. This component is installed on-premises. |
| CAM Agent | Any machine running a supported Windows operating system. |
