Store contract information in License Optimizer, then you can link the contract to multiple licenses and multiple purchase history records.
Contract, License and Purchase History records can also all exist independently of one another. A contract does not have to have licenses associated with it, just as a license does not have to have purchase history records associated with it.
A contract is typically a high level agreement between an organization and a vendor. Contract information is not used in the reconciliation calculations. For more information about contracts, see Contracts.
A license is used to define what has been purchased and the information provided in a license is used in reconciliation. Any information that changes the way in which the license position is calculated is critical. For more information about licenses, see Licenses.
Purchase History records are used to track the origins of the license records. Purchase History records are not used in the reconciliation calculations. For more information about purchase history records, see Purchase History.
The Renewals page shows licenses and contracts that are due for renewal within the next 120 days. For information on renewals, see Renewals.
You access the pages detailed above by clicking the appropriate item under Entitlement on the menu bar.
