Toolbar Buttons

Within the Configuration Manager Software Updates Folder

Several toolbar buttons are available on the Home tab when Automation Scheduler, Updates or Published Third-Party Updates is selected within the Software Library > Software Updates > Ivanti Patch folder.

Available from both Updates and Published Third-Party Updates:

Description

Synchronize Software Updates

Used to initiate a site-wide synchronization of software updates. This option is also available by right-clicking the Updates or the Published Third-Party Updates workspace name.

Edit

Used to modify an individual update’s metadata and to create and attach custom install scripts to the update. This option is also available by right-clicking an update in the Updates or the Published Third-Party Updates workspace.

Uncheck All

Used to uncheck all updates that are currently selected in the Patch for Configuration Manager grid. This option is also available by right-clicking an update in the Updates or the Published Third-Party Updates workspace.

Check All

Used to check all updates that are currently listed in the Patch for Configuration Manager grid. This option is also available by right-clicking an update in the Updates or the Published Third-Party Updates workspace.

Settings

Used to modify your Patch for Configuration Manager settings or schedule a recurring publication task. This option is also available by right-clicking the Updates or the Published Third-Party Updates workspace name.

Manage Products

Used to view and modify which third-party vendors and product categories are being synchronized with the WSUS server.

Online Help

Used to access the user documentation and training videos that are available on the Ivanti website. This option is also available by right-clicking the Updates or the Published Third-Party Updates workspace name.

Also available when Updates is selected:

Description

Download

Used to download the selected update(s) to the folder specified on the Local Source tab of the Settings dialog. This button is unavailable if you have not specified a local source folder. You can also perform a download by right-clicking an update in the Updates workspace.

Publish

Used to manually publish one or more third-party updates.

Sideload Updates

Used to verify the contents of update files that must be manually downloaded and save the files to the proper directory within the local source folder.

Associate Template

Used to associate an Update Template to all of the updates that are contained within the supersedence chain of the selected updates.

Dissociate Template

Used to dissociate an Update Template from the supersedence chain of the selected updates.

Catalogs

Used to choose which update catalogs should be used by the program.

Import CVEs

Used to import a list of CVEs and identify the related software updates, which can then be published.

Recommended Products

Used to provide a list of updates that are uniquely recommended specifically for your organization.

Template Library

Used to define one or more Update Templates.

Also available when Published Third-Party Updates is selected:

Description

Expire

Used to expire third-party updates.

Republish

Used to publish updates that were previously published. For example, you might publish the full-content version of an update that was previously published as metadata-only. This will always publish the unedited version of the update that is in the current catalog. This is also useful if you expire an update and you want to get it back.

Used to deploy updates that have already been published and synchronized with WSUS.

Re-sign

Used to re-sign updates if your signing certificate has changed or has been renewed. See How to Re-Sign and Deploy Updates for more details.

Delete

Used to delete an update from all deployments, deployment packages, Software Update Groups, and WSUS. The update will be expired as part of the deletion process.

Deployment Profiles

Used to define the profiles that are used when deploying updates.

Description

Publish by Filter

Used to schedule automatic publications and downloads on a recurring basis by creating one or more scheduled tasks.

Used to create a recurring scheduled task that will automatically publish updates that are related to a list of CVEs.

Publish Recommendations

Used to schedule the automatic publication of updates that are recommended for products installed on your endpoints.

Compliance Remediation

Used to schedule the automatic publication of updates that were previously published as metadata only and that are currently missing from your client machines. The updates will be published as full content and optionally deployed to your endpoints.

Synchronize Applications

Used to schedule a recurring task that will import third-party applications into Configuration Manager and/or Intune for deployment to your endpoints. The task will also check for updates to any existing applications that you have deployed.

Catalogs

Used to choose which update catalogs should be used by the program.
