Machines

In Cherwell Asset Management, the term "machine"’ refers to computers on your organization’s network. Machines are listed in the Machines panel and are shown in categories based on platform, the install state of the CAM Agent (Windows machines), how and where they were discovered, and any other group you have defined.

Once the CAM Agent is installed on a Windows machine or you've collected inventory data from a Linux, Unix, or Mac OS machine, a machine represents not only the physical presence of the hardware in your environment, but the inventory and usage information collected from it.
