Installation and Deployment

Intended Audience

This document is intended for system administrators who are migrating from ITSM Release 6.x, ITSM Release 7.x, ITSM Release 8.x and Ivanti Classic to Neurons for ITSM 2024.

Document Organization

This guide contains the following sections:

•Neurons for ITSM Deployment Overview: Describes recommended and optional deployment architectures, including the Neurons for ITSM reporting feature and Ivanti Voice.

•Ivanti Service Manager Installation Prerequisites: Provides information about confirming your role, the different accounts and passwords used in Neurons for ITSM, using a virtual machine, enabling file streaming and full-text search in Microsoft SQL Server, and verifying server roles and features.

•Installing the Neurons for ITSM System: Describes how to install Neurons for ITSM, including the Neurons for ITSM Operations Console, the reporting feature, ISM Discovery, and ISM Knowledge.

•Initially Configuring the System: Describes how to use the System Configuration Wizard to configure Neurons for ITSM, including its servers and databases; and how to use the Neurons for ITSM Operations Console to configure the deployment.

•Upgrading Neurons for ITSM from an Earlier Release: Contains information and instructions for upgrading Neurons for ITSM from an earlier release to the current release.

•Using the License Manager: Explains how to install and use the Neurons for ITSM License Manager.
