Configuring Settings

HEAT PatchLink DeskTop for System Center (HEAT PatchLink DeskTop) includes a Settings view. This page is primarily used to configure HEAT PatchLink DeskTop to work in your network environment, but it also displays info about the software, licensing, and synchronization.

The view also contains some links to launch commonly performed HEAT PatchLink DeskTop for System Center tasks that are also available on other views.

Settings
This view lists different settings used by HEAT PatchLink DeskTop for System Center (HEAT PatchLink DeskTop). You can also use it to configure your server for environmental requirements or initiate common HEAT PatchLink DeskTop tasks.
Changing Proxy Settings
If you configured your server for proxy communication following initial installation of HEAT PatchLink DeskTop for System Center, you can update that information should the proxy ever be reconfigured. You can also use follow these instructions to configure a proxy server for the first time.
Changing SCCM Settings
If your Primary Site Server (or Central Administration Site) changes host names, update its information so that HEAT PatchLink DeskTop for System Center can continue functioning.
Activating Serial Numbers
Evaluation customers who've upgraded their license from Trial to Standard must enter their new serial number in the HEAT PatchLink DeskTop Console before the upgrade takes effect. Also, users who've deactivated their servers must re-enter their serial number to reactivate it.
Deactivating the HEAT PatchLink DeskTop Server
In the rare case that you need to migrate your HEAT PatchLink DeskTop Server to another box, you can deactivate your existing server beforehand to prevent conflicts after migrating.
Configuring the HEAT PatchLink DeskTop Server
If you didn't configure HEAT PatchLink DeskTop for System Center for your network following installation, launch the HEAT PatchLink DeskTop for System Center Configuration Wizard. This wizard allows end-to-end configuration of HEAT PatchLink DeskTop so that it can operate in your network. You can use it to point toward a proxy server, configure communication with a remote Primary Site Server/Central Administration Site, and enter a serial number.
Updating the Signing Certificate
If you need to change or update the signing certificate you're using on your WSUS Server (when it expires, for example), follow these instructions.
Re-Signing Packages
After changing or updating the signing certificate you're using on your WSUS Server, you can no longer deploy bundles that contain packages signed by the previous certificate. You'll need to re-sign the packages using your new certificate. Follow the instructions to view and re-sign packages.
