Logging In to the Avalanche Console
To access the Avalanche Console, you need:
•An Internet browser. Use Internet Explorer 9 or 10, or the latest version of Chrome.
•An Internet or intranet connection between the Avalanche server and the computer where you will be using the Console.
•Each user who will use the Console to configure software packages must have a JRE installed.
If you choose to use a certificate to create a secure connection between the browser and the server, see SSL Certificates for information on launching the Web Console.
To access the Console from a web browser:
1.In the address field of your browser, type:
http://[address]:8080/AvalancheWeb/
-Or, if you set up the SSL certificate for the Tomcat web server-
http://[address]:8443/AvalancheWeb/
where [address] is the IP address or DNS name of the machine where the enterprise server is installed.
The User Login page appears.
2.Enter your Login and Password.
Avalanche is installed with a default user login of amcadmin and password of admin.
3.Click Connect.
If your computer can contact the Enterprise Server and your credentials are valid, the Web Console launches.
To enable integrated logon with LANDESK Management Console:
1.Install the Avalanche LDAP Integration Services on your network.
2.From the Avalanche Console, click Tools > System Settings.
3.In the Authentication Options panel, configure the LDAP server address and credentials.
4.Click Save.
To access the Avalanche Console from the LANDESK Management Console:
1.From the LANDESK Management Console, click Tools > Mobility > Mobile policy management.
The Avalanche user login page appears in a browser window.
2.Type an email address that Avalanche will associate with your user account in the text box and click Connect.
The Avalanche Console launches.
After the first login from the LANDESK Management Console, you have the option to access the Avalanche Console using a web browser (see instructions above). The credentials you provide in order to log in are the email address from step 2 and your LDMS password.
