Editing Server Properties

You can view mobile device server properties or Smart device server properties from the Avalanche Console if you have permissions. Server properties include the version of the server, the date the server was started, the status of the server, and licensing information.

You can edit certain properties of the server, such as the name that is displayed in the Console, the latitude and longitude of the server, the time zone, and notes about the server.

The server properties page allows you to move a device server to a different region in the Navigation Tree. When you move a server, the devices that are associated with the server are moved also.

If you edit device server properties, you must enter an address for the server in order to save your changes.

To view or edit server properties:

1.From the Inventory panel, click on the name of the server in the Device Servers panel.

The Device Server Details page appears.

To view the licensing messages associated with the server, click License Messages.

To edit server properties, click Edit in the upper right corner of the page.

2.Edit the fields as desired and then click Save.

When editing a mobile or Smart device server's properties, you are required to set a Server Address to save any changes.

To move the server to a different region:

1.From the Inventory panel, click on the name of the server in the Device Servers panel.

2.The Device Server Details page appears. Click Move in the upper right corner of the page.

3.The Choose Location dialog box appears. Click the name of the region that you want to move the server to.
