Enabling LANDESK CSA/SOCKS Service

The LANDESK CSA/SOCKS service is a TCP/IP proxy used for secure communication with mobile wrapped applications. If you enable the Require Secure Communication option in the App Wrapping Settings Payload (Android/iOS), you must perform these steps. This service is not enabled by default and must be activated on the computer hosting your LANDESK Management Suite server. For more information on setting a CSA in LDMS, see the LANDESK Management Suite Help Center.

To enable the CSA/SOCKS service:

1.From the computer hosting your LANDESK Management Suite servers, navigate to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.

2.Locate the LANDesk CSA/SOCKS Service entry and double-click on it.

3.From the General tab, click the drop-down menu for Startup type and select Automatic.

4.Click OK.

5.Right-click LANDesk CSA/SOCKS Service and click Start.

The service begins.

A log file named csa-socks.log is automatically created in the CSA file directory when the service runs. This contains diagnostic information as well as connection logs. To troubleshoot the secure connection between Android devices and the CSA, see Troubleshooting with the Android Enabler.
