The Studio Client Settings payload sends settings to the Studio Client installed on a Smart device. The payload can be applied to folders that contain both Android and iOS devices, but the payload will only apply to iOS devices. The settings in this payload are global (not host-specific), so you can only send one payload of this type to each device.
The Studio Client settings payload has the following options:
Specifies if the Client app will exit when the Client is disconnected from the host.
File Drop Address
Specifies the URL for a web server where the Client can upload log files.
Reconnect on Disconnect
Specifies if the Client should automatically attempt to reconnect to the host after a connection is unexpectedly closed.
Allow Add Hosts
Specifies whether users can manually create new host profiles from the device.
Clear Log on Start
Specifies if the session log is cleared each time you run the Client.
Display ESC on Header
Displays an ESC key in the header.
Enable Log View
Allows the logs to be viewed from the device.
Enable Logging
Specifies if all communication between the Client and the host is saved in the session log.
Hide System Bar
Hides the OS system bar while the Client is active.
Include Data on ESC
When ESC is pressed on a Smart device, the Client sends any data in the input fields along with the ESC keypress.
Number of Columns
Specifies the number of text columns. This property is used to define text size and set to 21 by default.
Number of Rows
Specifies the number of text rows. This property is used to define text size and set to 16 by default.
Swipe from Right
Indicates the decimal command key associated with the function of swiping from the right. By default, it is set to 10, or line feed (Enter).
Swipe from Left
Indicates the decimal command key associated with the function of swiping from the left. By default, it is set to 27, or ESC.
Show Disconnect
Displays or hides the disconnect button when connected to an application.
Advanced Password
Restricts access to editing host profiles at the device level. When a password is set, Smart devices prompt the user for a password to edit existing host profiles. If no password is set, users can edit host profiles from the device. If a password is set and no host profiles are deployed to the device from Avalanche, users are prompted to enter this password when they create a new host profile. This setting does not restrict users from creating new host profiles. To prevent users from creating new host profiles at the device level, see Studio Host Profile Configuration Payload (iOS).
Configuration Password
Restricts access to the Settings page at the device level. When a password is set, Smart devices will prompt the user for a password to edit Client settings. If no password is set, the prompt will not display and users can change settings from the device.
Attaches a file to display on Studio at the top of the client's screen. The image must be 640x128 pixels in size and use PNG, JPG, or BMP formats.
Button configuration file
Attaches the StudioFL.xml button configuration file for distribution to iOS devices with the Studio Client. For details on how to edit this file, see the Studio Client User Guide on the Wavelink website. The button configuration file must be named StudioFL.xml for the Studio Client to correctly reference buttons.
To create a Studio Client settings payload:
1.From the Profiles tab, click New Payload in the Available Payloads panel.
2.The Payload dialog box appears. Select the iOS and Android option and then click Studio Client Settings Configuration.
3.The Client settings appear. Settings are organized by the tabs on the left. Configure the payload and click Save.
To apply the settings on devices, add the payload to an Application Configuration profile and apply the profile to a folder. Once you perform a deployment, enrolled devices assigned to that folder receive the settings the next time they check in. If a Smart device is unmanaged through Avalanche, print the QR code associated with the folder and scan it with the device to configure the Client. For information on printing the QR code associated with a folder, see Configuring Software on Unenrolled Smart Devices.
