Using Scan to Config
If the Enabler is installed on an AIDC device with a scanner, configure the Enabler by scanning the company ID barcodes. The barcodes will set the Avalanche server address and the company ID for the device. You can print the company ID barcodes from the My Account page in the Console. For more information on printing company ID barcodes, see Managing Your Account.
The barcodes do not contain the device authentication password. If you set a device authentication password when you registered, the device user must provide the password the first time the Enabler connects to the Avalanche server. After the first connection has been established, the user will only need to provide the password if a Console user changes the password.
To configure an installed Enabler using scan to config:
1.From the Enabler, click File > Scan Config.
The Scan Configuration dialog box appears.
2.Using the mobile device, scan the barcodes.
The Remaining text box displays the numbers of the barcodes that still need to be scanned. The Scanned text box displays the numbers of barcodes already scanned. For example, if you have 10 barcodes to scan and you have scanned numbers one and two, the Scanned text box will display 1, 2 and the Remaining text box will display 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
Once the barcodes are scanned, the dialog box closes and the mobile device is configured with the settings contained in the barcodes.
